Digital Photography Workshop and Wildlife Voyage
During this 8-day Special Interest departure of our Sea of Cortez Wildlife Voyage, you'll learn photography techniques that will help you capture the golden colors of Baja's captivating landscapes.

Our Digital Photo Workshop takes place aboard the 80' Don Jose, whose high second and third decks provide ideal vantage points for photographing Baja’s abundant wildlife and remarkable landscapes. You’ll chance encounters with marine wildlife in the open waters of the Sea of Cortez and island hop amongst rocky outcrops where you can closely observe the myriad of resident and transient species that Baja is famous for

In this workshop, participants will take advantage of the ambient light during sunrise and sunset shoots while learning techniques to reproduce the golden colors of Baja’s captivating landscapes. You’ll be introduced to artificial lighting methods while hiking the islands visited and— throughout the week, capture a series of images to create a personal “photo essay.” Back onboard the Don Jose, participants will be exposed to cutting edge digital techniques and slide shows that utilize professional workflows for lecture and critique sessions.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are freshly prepared by our onboard cooks. Each evening, you'll also enjoy our famous Don Jose-style happy hour as you capture the last of the day's light through your lens. The Don Jose comfortably accommodates passengers in seven above-deck cabins, each with a storage closet, adjacent shower and head, plus a private changing area and sink in some. Air-conditioning is available at night in each cabin that come well equipped to suit the traveling photographer with outlets for charging batteries or reviewing personal work on the laptops they bring.

During this 5-day Digital Photography Workshop you’ll learn how to capture stunning images of this UNESCO World Heritage Site—a treasure of the natural world.
