Whale Watching
Every year California gray whales migrate over 12,000 miles from their summer feeding grounds in the Bering Sea to their winter breeding grounds in Baja California and back again. It's the longest mammal migration known, and one of nature's great wildlife spectacles.
- Observe
the gray whales during their breeding,
calving and nurturing cycle, from late
January to early April.
- Your
comfortable, catered camp is situated
at water's edge with walk-in tents,
cots and bedding provided.
- Watch
whales twice each day from motorized
skiffs, accompanied by experienced
pilots and guides.
- Hiking, bird watching, kayaking, beachcombing and star gazing can also be part of your day.
Are you intrigued by other species of whales? In our Whales, Whales, Whales wildlife cruise program, you'll witness the mysterious movements of the Blue, Finback and Humpback whales-all of which flock to Baja in January and February.
On our Sea of Cortez Wildlife Cruise - offered March through May - we catch sight of a breath-taking array of whales. You may see Fin, Humpback, Sperm, Orca and Pilot whales-plus dolphins and a wondrous array of birds and tropical fish.
