Wildlife Cruises: Sea of Cortez
Follow Steinbeck's route as you explore aboard the Don Jose.
Trip Details:
Join our special voyage of discovery, exploration, and tranquility. Catch sight of a breathtaking array of whales and dolphins - from Fin and Humpback to Sperm, Orca and Pilot. Snorkel in waters where a wondrous array of tropical fish thrive. Watch blue footed boobies raising their young. See tens of thousands of royal and elegant terns in their nests.
You will cruise aboard the Don Jose through the southern Sea of Cortez , exploring the islands and coast between La Paz and Loreto. With frequent anchoring for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and hiking, you will have time to experience the many faces of the Sea of Cortez !
More than 50 years ago, John Steinbeck traveled to The Sea of Cortez and logged his experiences in his book, "The Log From the Sea of Cortez." This trip travels in the same areas mentioned in the book; many of his impressions are as accurate today as they were in the 1940s.
