Client Reviews

"The Nature Conservancy has worked with Baja Expeditions for many years to promote conservation and responsible travel in the Gulf of California . The company, and especially its owner, Tim Means, have demonstrated their commitment to helping protect the biodiversity and natural systems of this globally significant area, which keeps us coming back to them for more!

Our members have had wonderful experiences sea kayaking and cruising with Baja Expeditions along remote desert islands, wild, rugged coastlines and wildlife-rich waters. Their knowledgeable staff, outstanding itineraries, and strong conservation ethic combine to provide outstanding travel experiences."

"I have traveled with Baja Expeditions since 1976, with my family and as a trip naturalist for The Living Desert Wildlife Park. The small size of their groups guarantees up-close and personal wildlife experiences, with negligible environmental impact.  Owner Tim Means' respect for the unique ecosystems in and around the Baja California has been deliberately passed on to the company staff, crew and guides, providing an atmosphere of curiosity and wonder, and a strong conservation ethic.

Traveling with Baja Expeditions in the Sea of Cortez is to get to know and feel the marvel of this, the richest of all the world's seas, and to personally care about its future."

"Our Calgary Zoo travelers have experienced nothing but the best when Baja Expeditions has been utilized. They have a friendly, professional crew, excellent food and accommodations and know how to make learning fun. We've been especially pleased with the eco-sensitivity they demonstrate and appreciate the fact that they employ locals, which helps support their economy.

Our guides displayed great knowledge of wildlife and botany, and are among the most competent and resourceful I've encountered on over 60 expeditions to all seven continents during my 20 years of leading eco-tours. We'll be back!"

-Brian Keating, Head of Conservation Outreach

"When we arrived at the sandy spit on the seaward edge of Magdalena Bay , I was delighted to discover a well-planned campsite, attentive to the dunes, respectful of a landscape which became home for a week. Days in a panga looking for whales emphasized the care and concern of the expedition's staff. They explained and described whales who cavorted around us as if we were old friends.   Long walks on the beach. Climbing a dune to watch the sun set in the Pacific. What a marvelous time at a marvelous place. My thanks to everyone at Baja Expeditions for an unparalleled experience that was the absolute best in eco-travel!"
